Yongsan-gu (용산 하수구): the four neighborhoods we visit most
Itaewon, Hannam-dong, Haebangchon and Ichon-dong sit in one district but plumb very differently. Itaewon and HBC are hillside villas and rooftop units — narrow stairs, old cast-iron stacks, terrace drains that fill with leaves every autumn. Hannam is large detached villas and long-term expat rentals where the property manager books the visit and wants a written record. Ichon is riverside apartment complexes with a management office, a shared riser, and a Japanese-speaking community that prefers a phone call. Each page below explains how a visit is arranged in that neighborhood, what usually goes wrong there, and what to have ready before you text.
