Yeonnam & Hongdae: Plumbing for Buildings Living Second Lives

The signature Yeonnam problem is a mismatch: a 2020s interior running on 1980s drainage. Conversions added bathrooms and kitchen points wherever the layout needed them, which left long, flat pipe runs that were never designed for the load they now carry.

• Share house drains under heavy rotation. Six tenants, one aging bathroom stack: hair, cooking grease and detergent hit the same old line daily. When it blocks, nobody is sure who should call whom. We come out on any housemate's text, state the fixed price up front so it can be split or passed to the operator, and note in writing whether the cause was usage or the building's own aging pipe.
• Small café and restaurant kitchens. A converted-house café rarely has a proper grease trap. When the kitchen line slows mid-service, we can schedule the clearing after closing time — our rate does not change at night, so there is no penalty for choosing the hour that protects your revenue.
• Added bathrooms in odd places. A toilet installed during a renovation sometimes sits far from the original stack, connected by a run with barely any slope. If yours blocks repeatedly, a camera pass shows whether the problem is the pipe's geometry — worth knowing before you spend on the third unclogging.
